Come join us as we reflect upon Christ’s final hours this Good Friday. “Tenebrae” in Latin means “darkness.” During this service then, we will gradually experience the darkness of Jesus’s final hours to help us reflect upon the spiritual and physical darkness present during his crucifixion.
A number of scripture passages (recounting Christ’s final hours) will be read, after each of which another candle will be extinguished. At the end, only one candle will remain lit, i.e., the Christ candle, representing our faint but growing hope in the midst of deep darkness. At the close of the service, as the sun fully sets, attendees will depart in silence.
We invite you to join us for this special traditional service as we anticipate the hope of Christ on Easter Sunday!
